Patients will experience discomfort in the days following the procedure and will be given pain medications to manage any discomfort. Oftentimes, patients may wear a brace to ensure the protection of the operated-on leg. Physical therapy often follows the initial recovery to help patients build strength and regain movement. Patients are expected to follow a strict rehabilitation plan including crutches and lots of rest in the coming week.
