    Patients will be given a local anesthetic to ensure their comfort throughout the procedure. The surgeon will begin by making an incision along each side of the heel. This procedure can be performed endoscopically or openly, so the procedure will differ depending on the surgical approach. During an endoscopic plantar fasciotomy, the surgeon will use a small camera to monitor the area, while open surgery requires a larger incision. Regardless of the surgical approach, the goal of the procedure is to cut the plantar fascia to release any pressure. Once finished, the surgeon will close the incision.\u00a0<\/p>

    After the procedure, patients may experience swelling, pain, and bruises at the site of the incision. Patients will be given pain medications to manage this discomfort.
