Born in Peru and raised across South America\u2014including Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil\u2014she moved to Texas at age 16. She earned her bachelor&#8217;s degree in Spanish literature with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Texas at Arlington, then went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.<\/p><p>Dr. Calderwood completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver and practiced as an OB-GYN for eight years before pursuing specialized fellowship training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Oregon Health &amp; Science University in Portland.<br \/><br \/><strong>Her Approach to Care<br \/><\/strong><br \/>\u201cI believe the patient and I are partners in their care,\u201d says Dr. Calderwood. \u201cMy role is to guide, educate, and empower them to make choices that align with their needs and values. Health and well-being are deeply personal, shaped by beliefs, cultural background, and emotional state. I strive to navigate those nuances with respect, compassion, and open communication.
