Necklift Procedure

A neck lift is a cosmetic procedure to reduce the effects of aging in the neck region. The goal of this procedure is to create a more youthful and contoured appearance by reshaping and tightening the skin and muscles. During a neck lift, the surgeon will tighten muscles and remove excess tissue to achieve the desired look.

Many patients seeking a neck lift are not able to have it covered by their insurance. In this case, patients may consider a neck lift procedure with a Direct Specialty Care (DSC) provider. Smith Medical offers affordable plastic surgery to patients seeking transparent, quality care.

When is This Procedure Necessary?

Patients may consider a neck lift procedure to minimize signs of aging in the lower section of the face. Factors such as genetics, weight fluctuations, and sun exposure can contribute to the aging process in the neck area. Additionally, individuals who have undergone significant weight loss may also consider a neck lift to address excess skin. Regardless of the reason for surgery, we believe that all patients deserve the right to accessible and affordable care.

What To Expect

Before the procedure, patients have a consultation with their surgeon to establish their goals with treatment and to understand what to expect. Patients must follow all instructions regarding eating on the day of, as this can disturb the anesthesia.

Patients will be under general anesthesia to ensure their comfort throughout the procedure. Depending on the approach used, an incision can be made at the hairline, chin, or near the ear. Next, the surgeon will tighten the neck muscles and remove excess fat to achieve the goals voiced by the patient. Once the goal of the procedure has been achieved, the surgeon will close the incision and the patient will be monitored as they are removed from the anesthesia.
