When the goal of the procedure has been achieved, the surgeon will close the incision and the patient will be removed from the anesthesia. Patients may experience pain and discomfort in the operated area for a few days. It is very important that patients take all medications prescribed to ensure a healthy and simple recovery. Patients are expected to use crutches in the weeks following surgery to keep the knee immobile.
