Percutaneous Pinning - Finger 1-2 Pins Procedure
Percutaneous pinning of fingers is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to stabilize fractures in the fingers. During this procedure, the surgeon will place small pins through the skin to hold the fractured bones in place while they heal. Percutaneous pinning offers several advantages compared to traditional surgery including a shorter recovery time, less risk of infection, and minimal scarring. This procedure is mostly recommended to patients who have suffered simple fractures and do not have any soft tissue-related damage.
ĀæCuando es necesario este procedimiento?
Percutaneous pinning (1-2 pins) is medically necessary when a patient has suffered a fracture that requires stabilization to promote proper healing and prevent further damage. This procedure, which involves the insertion of metal pins through the skin and into the bone to hold it in place, is typically recommended for fractures that are displaced or unstable.
